Porshia J. Gordon, stage name PorshiaJ, is a Caribbean/American vocalist and performer born in sunny South Florida. Though she was born in the United States, her Haitian and Bahamian culture influences who she is on and off stage. From a young age it was apparent to PorshiaJ that performing was a part of who she was. She struggled to find confidence when speaking in front of audiences due to her stutter. Singing became more than a hobby when PorshiaJ realized that when she sung, she did not stutter.

With the support of her mother she was enrolled in speech therapy, where she learned the tools that helped her find her confidence in herself and her performance. From that point forward, PorshiaJ has been a force to be reckoned with.

With over 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry, she has captivated audiences from all walks of life. From talent shows in middle school, to becoming Vocal Director in high school, and shining in her college years, PorshiaJ has built name for her self brick by brick. She graduate with her Bachelors in music in 2018 from Florida Atlantic University. Also, PorshiaJ released her first EP “Club Love”, opened for R&B singer Marques Houston, and found herself in first place in many competitions including Miss Phi Beta Sigma in just her first two years of college.

Over the last few years, PorshiaJ has sung alongside Jamie Fox for the NFL’S OFFICIAL 50TH ANNUAL SUPER BOWL PRE-PARTY, featured in the film BAD BOYS 4 LIFE covering “Heaven Must Have Sent You from Above” by Marvin Gaye and most recently appeared in Mariah Carey’s Apple TV special MARIAH’S CHRISTMAS: THE MAGIC CONTINUES. If that wasn’t enough, PorshiaJ wanted to get back to her artistry roots and create her own band known as “PJ & CO”, specializing in Top 40’s R&B. PJ & CO are in high-demand through out South Florida for Private & Corporate Events. She also a staff resident leading worship at Church by the Glades and is the Vocal Director for their Young Adults Ministry.

Whether she’s booked as a solo artist, accompanied with a full band, teaching or performing for the big screen, PorshiaJ gives her all and has committed herself to becoming one of the best female vocalists  & performers in the industry. Through many adversities she holds on to a mantra she learned from her high school choir teacher, Mrs. Traci Dixon Fuller, “Talent is nothing, character is everything”. Beyond her talent PorshiaJ is described as personable, funny, passionate and loyal. Her work ethic and character are what has lead her to ongoing opportunities in this industry and she’s just getting started. When she enters a room, her energy is magnetic and leaves everyone wondering “Who is PorshiaJ?”.
